8.7.08,

poor choi.

she smsed me that she vomitted and hav a stomach ache...

must be cuz she keep scolding me "crazy" and "siao". =D

got back maths p2 today. was quite ok wif da results. i passed stats. but since p1 was so badly done, i tink overall it's still screwed... haiz...

now doin RACIAL HARMONY DAY tinggy on taboos. and we hav to go up during morn assembly to talk bout it. eeeeeee... so scary.

but taboos are quite interesting.. shall put up some here.

chinese:

-The Chinese believe that when a necklace breaks, a member of the family who is sick will die.
-If a roast pig is included as part of the bride’s home visit gifts, be careful not to break the ears or tails accidentally. An imperfect roast pig implies that the bride is not a virgin. (WAT!?! should check the hymen wat. wat has a pig gotta do wif virginity..)

malays:
-Don't cut your fingernails at night cause you will have a short life. (can enter guiness book of records le...)
-Ladies, don't sing in the kitchen while cooking because you might get old husbands.

indians:
-pregnant women are not allowed to be photographed as it is believed to bring bad luck. . In the old days, taking photographs was generally avoided as it was believed to shorten one’s life.
-Walking over books and paper(even newspaper) or even touching them with you feet. This is because books are a metaphor for the Goddess of learning and it is believed that insulting her would make you illiterate and unwise. (i've done this before!! mayb tt's y i become so stupid.)

oh well, although they seldom make sense, i still tink taboos are very interesting.. =)
